Hassan Sarbakhshian
Sarbakhshian was born in 1968 Tabriz. He graduated with a BA in Photography in 1998 and since 1999 has worked as a photographer for the U.S. Associated Press news agency. His photographs are regularly printed in international periodicals and magazines including Newsweek, Time, Economist, Novel Observator, New York Times and the Washington Post. He won the Iranian photojournalism’s “Kaveh” award and the first rank in “Dialogue” photo contest both in 2004. He was also selected as top photographer in the Iranian periodical’s festivals and received the state Crystal Pen in 1998, 1999 and 2001. He has also acted as a jury member on a number of occasions including the Iranian press festival in photo section in 2004, the Iranian photojournalism’s “Kaveh” award in 2005 and for the 10th Tehran Biennial in photojournalism section in 2006. He was also Secretary of first Soureh news photo contest in 2007.Sarbakhshians first solo photo exhibition was in Golestan gallery in 2004. He has also taken part in more than 70 national and international group photo exhibitions.
